Your Role: The Maintenance Support Engineer will provide front-line engineering support, responding to day-to-day issues which impact manufacturing, quality or EHS, and act as the primary engineering representative for manufacturing areas onsite.
The Maintenance Support Engineer will act as liaison between Maintenance Engineering and the Process Team. The role holder will ensure equipment is maintained in a safe and compliant manner and in a qualified state (where required).
The Maintenance Support Engineer will act as user representative for key capital projects as required within the manufacturing area they support.
Your Responsibilities:
* Short-term maintenance planning (0-7 day window)
o Triage reactive work orders within 24 hours of being raised
o Walk down area during job plan creation
o Check availability of parts, tools, etc
o Liaise with operations to ensure plant available
o Provide technical support to craft on day
o Liaise with engineering planner and engineering supervision to incorporate urgent work into plan, ensuring sufficient staffing is available
* Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
o Highlight deficiencies within maintenance system, and fix/escalate as appropriate (spares, PMs)
o Creation of, or technical updates to, job plans within area of expertise/ new duty for duty equipment change
o Own and update equipment-specific maintenance SOPs within area of responsibility
* Preparation of reports and metrics
o Report key Maintenance metrics/KPIs into the Process Team and Maintenance huddles, and other Process Team and Maintenance meetings as required
* Change and event investigation
o Own minor equipment changes (equipment replacement/same duty) following the site change management procedure
o Act as user rep for capital projects involving recapitalisation of single items of eqpt
o Participate in FMEA studies, utilizing knowledge of equipment and facilities
o Investigate equipment issues relating to equipment or maintenance failure - non-critical or level 1, and document in the event management system
o Implement recommendations from PHR/DSEAR studies
o Act as reviewer for PUWER risk assessments and implement recommendations as required
o Work with site functions (Reliability/TechOps, Operations, Quality) to identify equipment improvement and optimisation opportunities
* Other
o Act as SME for internal and external audits
o Provide field support and coaching to maintenance and operations staff within area of responsibility
o Understand key process safety and environmental safeguards associated with equipment in manufacturing areas.
o Support engineers who work on Enzymes products are required to have a knowledge and understanding of Feed Safety requirements.
o Support engineers may provide support across the site as needed based on their skill set
