Teaching Personnel is working exclusively in partnership with a specialist Additional Learning Needs (ALN) school in the Neath area to recruit a Full-Time ALN Teaching Assistant for the 2026–2027 academic year.
This is a long-term, full-time opportunity supporting pupils with complex additional needs in a nurturing, structured, and highly specialist environment. Due to the nature of learner needs, applicants must be able to commit to full-time hours for the full academic year.
About the Setting
This is a highly supportive, inclusive ALN provision that caters for children with significant and complex additional learning needs, including:
Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs Challenging behaviour Speech, language & communication needs Sensory processing differences Trauma-informed and attachment-aware profiles

You’ll be joining a warm, experienced, and dedicated staff team who work collaboratively to ensure every learner feels safe, understood, and supported to succeed.
? The Role
As a Full-Time ALN Teaching Assistant, you will:
Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups Assist with emotional regulation & behaviour support Use positive handling strategies where required Support learning across the curriculum Work closely with teachers and multidisciplinary staff Encourage independence, communication & confidence Be a consistent, trusted adult for learners who need stability
Ideal Candidate Profile
We’re looking for someone who is:
Passionate about ALN & inclusive education Calm, patient, and emotionally resilient Confident supporting challenging behaviour Able to commit to full-time hours long-term A strong team player with a nurturing approach
Desirable (But Not Essential):
Team Teach Level 2 Experience in ALN / SEN / SEMH settings Background in care, youth work, psychology or education Trauma-informed or behaviour support experience
