This mainstream Secondary School located in the Borough of Islington is looking for the perfect hard-working, resilient graduate to join their exceptional team! As a Behaviour Mentor, you will be working alongside pupils with SEMH & complex behavioural needs who require some additional guidance from a positive and assertive role model! You will support their everyday routine and keep them engaged and motivated to learn in the classroom. This is a full time, long-term post, commencing in September.
** This is an ideal position for a Psychology/Criminology graduate who is seeking first-hand experience before pursuing a career as a Prison Liaison Officer, Therapist, Counsellor, Youth Mentor amongst others. **
Behaviour Mentor - Autism Support Job role:
* Supporting children with a range of SEN & SEMH to keep them engaged in the classroom
* Encourage the development of the students' social skills
* Work within the classroom and in smaller groups to accommodate needs
* Support and comply with the school's safeguarding procedures
* Full-time, long term position starting September 2025
* Located in the Borough of Islington
Behaviour Mentor - Autism Support Candidate Specification:
* A 2:1 or a First-class degree from a reputable University
* Genuine interest working with SEN and Mental Health
* Excellent communication skills and willingness to adapt
* Experience in a previous role, or personal experience in SEN is desirable
* Calm and compassionate nature
