Description Interview/assessment/start date - Interviews in July, start date as soon as possible British Antarctic Survey (BAS) is looking for an exceptional Diesel Power Generator Technician to join our estates team. BAS delivers and enables world-leading interdisciplinary research in the Polar Regions. Current projects the team are working on include Automated power solutions in remote environments, operating a large CHP installation in one of our newest buildings and the introduction of large scale solar installations. Some of your main responsibilities will include: Maintenance and repair of the power production facility, including the servicing of the main diesel generator sets. Management of the fuel and maintaining the fuel handling equipment. Keeping detailed records of the work carried out and ensuring stock levels are correct. For the role of diesel power generator technician, we are looking for somebody who has: Served a full apprenticeship, have a BTEC, relevant City & guilds or NVQ with a recognized qualification within the within the petrol/diesel fueled engine maintenance industry, and have post qualification/apprenticeship practical site experience. With high levels of self-motivation and strong team-working skills you will be able to manage your time well, anticipate problems and take responsibility for reporting issues to your managers and fellow team members.
