About the Role
We are seeking a confident and proactive HR & Recruitment Advisor to join our onsite HR team at HMP Altcourse. This is a pivotal generalist role where you’ll provide expert advice and hands-on support in employee relations and recruitment, helping managers lead effectively in a fast-paced operational setting.
You will support the full employee lifecycle, strengthen recruitment activity and contribute to a positive compliant workplace culture within Sodexo.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations
Serve as the first point of contact for managers on absence and employee relations matters
Manage disciplinary, grievance, investigation, and absence cases from start to finish
Provide practical, compliant advice aligned with policy and employment law
Proactively manage cases to reduce risk and operational impactRecruitment & HR Support
Coordinate recruitment from approval through onboarding
Collaborate with hiring managers and resourcing teams to attract top talent
Support recruitment campaigns, job fairs, and local attraction initiatives
Maintain accurate HR records, trackers, and reports
Contribute to HR projects, data analysis, and continuous improvement
Deputise for the HR Business Partner when requiredAbout You
You will be organised, resilient, confident and able to work with stakeholders at all levels.
Essential:
HR experience in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and organisational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and build effective relationships
High level of discretion, professionalism, and attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft OfficeDesirable:
CIPD qualified or working towards qualification
