Cover Supervisor needed – Salford – Step Teachers
We are seeking a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor to provide regular work at a secondary school in Swinton, Salford. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in gaining classroom experience, supporting teaching and learning, and helping students succeed. Offering day-to-day cover as well as short-term and long-term placements.
Role and Details
* Role: Cover Supervisor
* Location: Swinton, Salford
* Start: ASAP
* Contract: Day-to-day, short term or long term cover opportunities
* Hours: 8:15am – 3:15pm
* Pay: Up to £110/day DOE (paid PAYE)
* Equal pay to perm staff in same role from 13th week

Duties as a Cover Supervisor
* Supervise classes during the short-term absence of teachers
* Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and ensure students remain on task
* Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
* Provide support for students’ learning and wellbeing
* Assist with general school duties when not covering lessons
Ideal Cover Supervisor
* Experience working with young people (school-based experience desirable)
* Strong communication and organisational skills as a Cover Supervisor
* Confidence in managing groups of students
* Ability to adapt quickly and use initiative
* A positive, professional, and reliable approach
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
What we need from you
* You must have graduated in the last 5 years
* An up-to-date CV with 10-year work history
* Proof of Right to Work, ID & Address in the UK
* Valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for a new one)
* Min. of 2 professional references covering the last 2 years
* Overseas police check (if applicable)
* A positive, punctual, patient and professional approach is a must
