CREST Settlements Analyst

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Settlements Associate to join an Operations team. This role will focus on managing post-trade settlement processes for UK securities, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and within required timelines.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining efficient settlement operations, resolving discrepancies, and liaising with both internal stakeholders and external counterparties.
Key Responsibilities
Trade Settlement
* Process and monitor settlement of UK equities and fixed income trades via the CREST system
* Ensure settlement instructions are matched and affirmed with counterparties
CREST Operations
* Input and validate settlement instructions within CREST (GUI)
* Monitor settlement queues and pending transactions
* Manage stock movements, transfers, and corporate actions
* Investigate and resolve failed or unmatched trades
* Monitor and manage cash positions to ensure sufficient funding
Reconciliations
* Perform daily cash and stock reconciliations between internal systems and CREST
* Identify and resolve discrepancies or breaks
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date settlement records
Required Skills & Experience
* Proven experience using the CREST system for UK securities settlement
* Strong understanding of UK settlement cycles (T+2) and US settlement cycles (T+1)
* Solid reconciliation and problem-solving skills
* High attention to detail and accuracy
* Strong Excel and reporting capabilities
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Qualifications
* 1–3+ years’ experience in settlements, operations, or custody
* Knowledge of UK market infrastructure (e.g. Euroclear, CREST)
