This is a hands‑on, commercially driven role where you will support the Branch Manager in maximising profitability, driving sales performance and building strong customer relationships across the local market.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Drive sales growth by developing strong relationships with new, existing, and lapsed customers, identifying opportunities to increase revenue and margin
* Support the delivery of branch sales targets, profit performance, and local sales plans, taking ownership of key accounts and opportunities
* Actively seek out new business, grow customer accounts, and use your market knowledge to influence commercial decisions and sales strategies
* Deliver an outstanding customer experience, adapting your approach to meet changing customer needs and expectations
* Lead by example on the trade counter and over the phone, providing expert advice and solutions to customers
* Support and coach the team to create a high-performance, sales-driven culture within the branch
* Monitor performance against key KPIs including sales, margin, stock, and customer satisfaction
* Ensure smooth day-to-day branch operations, including stock management, logistics, and compliance
* Deputise for the Branch Manager when required, taking ownership of branch performance and team leadership

Commercial Awareness – Strong understanding of margin, profitability, and performance targets
Customer Focus – Skilled at building lasting relationships and delivering excellent service

Resilience – Confidence to manage challenges, influence outcomes, and drive performance
Industry Knowledge – Experience within merchanting or a similar sales environment is highly beneficial
