Overview
An exciting opportunity is available for a committed, professional candidate to apply for the post of Receptionist within the Radiology department at Wythenshawe hospital, and our services based at Withington Community Hospital. This will be a rotational role for those interested in working full-time as we expand our services from 8AM - 8PM for 7 days a week. Wythenshawe Hospital is the largest of the MFT family and there has never been a more exciting time to join our team. The process of alignment alongside the rest of the MFT hospital sites is well underway and this, and this has seen our imaging department grow significantly. You will have an important part to play in supporting the clinical teams to deliver good care to our patients, and therefore must be confident working both on your own initiative and as part of a team. The post holder will be responsible for scheduling patients on Trust systems within specific timescales, greeting patients on attendance, checking patients details to ensure the correct patient is attended, dealing with queries and sign posting patients and visitors to the relevant areas within the department.
Responsibilities
* The post holder must be confident within a computer environment as this is a large part of the role.
* To provide a professional and welcoming reception service for all patients and visitors to the service.
* To deal with enquiries and take accurate messages from patients / visitors and professionals.
* To provide information to visitors or refer onto other sources as appropriate.
* To deal with all incoming mail, ensuring timely distribution.
* To attend patients on the Trust IT systems in keeping with departmental and Trust policies.
* Ensure patient confidentiality and correct identification of patients attending for examinations.
* Ensure delays to patients are communicated e.g. room closures / trauma liaising with the clinician staff to make informed decisions.
* Ensure patients are comfortable e.g. cold and require blankets.
* Deal with ambulance bookings (arrivals and departures) ensuring escalation process is followed in the event of long waits.
* Ensure patients and visitors are seated in the correct waiting areas and relevant persons notified if applicable.
* Dealing with all telephone enquiries in a polite and courteous manner.
* Ensure the reception areas is kept clean, tidy and welcoming at all times.
* To maintain an accurate and efficient administrative system for all clinical records and appointments.
* To input data the Trust systems and maintain diaries.
* To perform any other admin duties as required.
* To make appointments as required and per local policies and procedures.
