We are looking for a highly organised and people‑focused HR Operations Coordinator to join a busy, friendly HR team. This is a great role for someone with experience in HR administration who enjoys working in a fast‑paced environment, supporting a wide range of HR processes, and providing excellent service to staff.
HR Coordinator responsibilities:
6. Manage pre‑employment checks (e.g., right to work, references, DBS checks).
7. Keep digital and paper employee records up to date.
8. Maintain and update the Single Central Record (SCR) and HRIS.
9. Produce contracts, offer letters and employment documents.
10. Support recruitment activities when required.
11. Submit starters, leavers, and contractual changes accurately and on time.
12. Support employee benefits and pension administration.
13. Act as the first point of contact for everyday HR queries.
14. Assist with absence reporting and HR data collation.
15. Take notes during HR or employee meetings when needed.
16. Ensure HR processes meet safeguarding, compliance, and data protection standards.
17. Help prepare documentation for audits and inspections.
Skills & experience required:
Essential
18. Experience in HR administration or a similar role.
19. Strong organisation, accuracy, and attention to detail.
20. Ability to work with confidential information.
21. Confident communication skills (written & verbal).
22. Competence with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
23. Ability to prioritise and manage a busy workload.
24. A proactive, professional, and customer‑focused approach.
Desirable
25. Experience within education or another regulated sector.
26. Knowledge of safer recruitment.
27. Familiarity with HR systems (e.g., iTrent).
28. CIPD Level 3 (or working towards).
29. GCSE (or equivalent) English & Maths Grade C/Level 2 or above.
30. CIPD Level 3 desirable but not essential.
