Job Title: Senior Support Worker - Women's Hostel

Be a Voice of Strength for Women Rebuilding Their Lives

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our team at a specialist women's hostel in North West London. This is a vital service supporting women affected by homelessness, mental health challenges, trauma, and multiple complex needs.

As a Senior Support Worker, you'll lead by example, providing high-quality, trauma-informed support and guiding a small team to deliver effective, person-centred care that empowers each woman to move forward with dignity and stability.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide day-to-day support to women with complex needs, including mental ill-health, substance misuse, and experiences of domestic abuse or street homelessness.
2. Support the Team Leader with shift management, supervision, and mentoring of junior staff and volunteers.
3. Hold a caseload of residents and develop personalised support plans, risk assessments, and safeguarding measures.
4. Create a safe, supportive, and empowering environment within the hostel.
5. Liaise with external agencies including mental health teams, housing providers, social services, and community organisations.
6. Support residents in developing life skills and working towards greater independence.
7. Ensure all support is trauma-informed, gender-responsive, and culturally sensitive.
8. Maintain accurate records and ensure high standards of service delivery in line with organisational policies.

About You:

1. Proven experience supporting vulnerable women, particularly those experiencing homelessness and complex needs.
2. Strong understanding of trauma, safeguarding, and mental health issues.
3. Confident in managing challenging behaviour with empathy and professionalism.
4. Ability to lead, motivate, and support a team in a fast-paced environment.
5. Excellent communication, organisational, and partnership-working skills.
6. IT literacy and experience using support databases (e.g., In-Form, CHAIN).
7. A relevant qualification in Health & Social Care, Housing, or related field (Level 3 or above preferred).

What We Offer:

1. £14.00 - £16.00 per hour depending on experience.
2. Ongoing training, support, and professional development.
3. Opportunities for career progression in a growing and supportive organisation.
4. The chance to make a tangible difference to women's lives every day.

Apply now to join a passionate team making a real impact in the lives of women facing homelessness in London. Together, we can offer hope, safety, and a pathway forward.
