Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service is seeking a capable and growth‑oriented Infrastructure Engineer to support and enhance our IT infrastructure across on‑premises and cloud environments.
What Will You Be Doing?
* Support and maintain infrastructure components including servers, networking equipment, and storage systems.
* Assist in the design and implementation of infrastructure solutions across on premises and cloud platforms.
* Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues to ensure uptime and reliability.
* Participate in patching, backup, and disaster recovery processes.
* Collaborate with security and compliance teams to uphold cybersecurity standards.
* Document infrastructure configurations, procedures, and changes.
* Provide technical support and guidance to other team members.
What Are We Looking For?
* Network technology knowledge and experience, including wired and wireless, firewalls, switching, DNS, DHCP, and IP protocols.
* Knowledge of cyber security systems and configurations.
* Experience of managing backup systems and disaster recovery.
* Experience of troubleshooting network issues in an office‑based environment.
You will have a proactive approach and the ability to work on your own initiative with excellent planning and prioritisation skills, and the ability to communicate at both technical and non‑technical levels.
