As a Junior Apparel Graphic Designer, you will join our wider in house Design Centre. You will contribute to research and ultimately the creation of graphics for our Own Brands and work closely with Product Development, Buying and the rest of the Design team. You will seek and follow guidance from the Senior Graphic Designer, whilst in turn mentoring Assistant Graphic Designers.
Responsibilities
Research and analysing high street trends to produce mood boards that identify key trends.
Travel to UK stores and attend research trips for inspiration.
Attend UK festivals and social events with a focus on identifying the Footasylum customer.
Strong knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop packages.
Create initial new designs to present to brand managers/buyers whilst keeping to the brands signature handwriting.
Collaborate with the Senior & Graphic designers in creating and understanding clear and concise technical artworks.
Possess a good knowledge of print techniques/trims/embellishments.
Maintain high standards for colour, typography and design.
Work closely with the Designers and Buying team to ensure briefs are being translated into commercially aware graphics.
Demonstrate good communication skills when liaising with the Product Developers and factories in Turkey/China/Pakistan to give clear and concise comments.
Possess the ability to follow guidance from the Senior Graphic Designer.
Build and maintain close links with the buying and design team.
Work to tight deadlines and deliver results within specified time frames.
Provide ad-hoc administrative support to the Graphic Design team as and when required.
Requirements
2 years experience in the graphics industry
Motivated with good time management skills.
The ability to adapt and react quickly to changing demands and priorities.
Strong Graphics portfolio.
A degree in a related design subject is desirable.
Excellent communication and relationship building skills
