The Childrens Commissiong Team and Adult Social Care Commissioning Team are looking for a proactive Commissioning Support Officer to help design, procure, and manage services that improve lives across Kent.
About the Role
The Commissioning Support Officer is an exciting new role within the Councils Commissioning Teams. As a Commissioning Support Officer, youll play a pivotal role in delivering the commissioning cycle, from start to finish, for services that make a real impact on the lives of children, families and vulnerable adults across Kent. Working alongside a team of dedicated Commissioners and working closely with colleagues across KCC, youll lead on low-risk and low-value services/contracts, ensuring all activity is evidence-based, provides best value, and meet the needs of our communities.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Managing the commissioning process ensuring alignment with KCCs strategic outcomes.
2. Leading effective contract management to drive value and improve service outcomes.
3. Supporting service redesign initiatives to improve outcomes and engagement.
4. Administering low-value procurements and ensuring compliance with policies.
5. Undertaking research, data analysis, and forecasting to inform commissioning plans.
6. Building positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
About You
To succeed in this role, youll need:
7. NVQ Level 4 or equivalent, or a degree-level qualification and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
8. A solid understanding of the commissioning process and relevant legislation, ( eg Childrens services, Adult Social Care and Public Health).
9. Proven experience in project management and working in partnership settings.
10. Strong organisational, analytical, and communication skills.
11. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and excellent communication abilities.
