What it's like to work here
This role sits in the Brand Marketing team, in the Communications and Fundraising directorate. Our team is responsible for safeguarding and evolving the core NT brand. We are brand, creative and production specialists who are experts in our craft, applying it to content marketing and communications, and innovating with our craft to make the brand relevant to audiences. Your contractual location will be our Head Office in Swindon. However, there is flexibility on where you are based. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.

What you'll be doing
You’ll lead small teams of staff and freelancers to deliver great audio experiences aligned to specific audiences and our brand. You’ll help us inspire people where they are, via platforms and formats that are relevant to them.You’ll lead for podcast creation, co-manage our audio strategy, and support with content and marketing response to briefs. When it comes to audio, you will be the NT’s expert. In the creation of content you will brief and commission compelling audio and audio-visual experiences spanning a range of topics including nature, wellbeing, heritage and children’s, working with others in the business and often with freelancers/agencies. You’ll be responsible for delivering and growing our existing podcast shows, Wild Tales and Ranger Rae and the Wildlifers. And you’ll be responding to strategic NT campaigns for audio –projects might range from developing new products, to managing delivery of soundscapes, or working with voice actors to record scripts. You’ll be pro-active with creative ideas and enjoy looking for opportunities to galvanise your team to pitch great new audio-visual experiences for audiences. And you’ll be building meaningful collaborative relationships with content creators and organisations to drive forward our strategy. The Trust has 5m members but we want to engage more people, where they are, in ways that are relevant to them. You’ll be instrumental in transforming our digital content with exciting, varied, relevant content that reaches new audiences.

•Audience-first content commissioning – ability to research and understand the audience’s needs, and identifying opportunities.•Experience successfully engaging new audiences with digital content. •Audio-visual production expertise – demonstratable understanding and experience of the production elements to make a great product. •Inclusive storytelling – and working with diverse experts, creators and organisations. •Industry knowledge. •Strong editorial lead – construct compelling and purposeful stories and navigating big productions.•Leadership skills – although this isn’t a line manager role, you’ll be leading others in the delivery of work.•Stakeholder management – confident building successful working relationships internally and with external creators and organisations.
