Shropshire PCN Primary Care Psychology service (Shropshire Central CMHS) offers an opportunity for a Clinical Associate in Psychology to join the team, working 37.5 hours per week on a permanent contract.
In this role you will work as a semi-autonomous psychological practitioner under the direct supervision of an experienced and HCPC registered Practitioner Psychologist, providing specialist psychological services to adults with complex mental health difficulties through group interventions and one‑to‑one assessment, formulation and brief intervention.
Main duties of the job
* Support the wider NHS agenda to develop and expand access to psychological provision.
* Work within the identified clinical area and an appropriate scope of practice in a semi‑autonomous manner, utilising psychological knowledge, research and theory to reduce psychological distress and enhance wellbeing of service users and carers.
* Ensure the continuing development of a person‑centred, recovery‑focused model of care, enhancing service user and carer involvement.
* Manage a defined client caseload, delivering interventions in accordance with NICE guidance and considering the needs of the carer/family.
* Engage with a wide spectrum of agencies, statutory and voluntary, to enhance client care, minimise social exclusion and promote high standards of care and positive values.
Person Specification
* Undergraduate Degree in Psychology
* Qualification (Masters level) Clinical Associate in Psychology
* Experience working as CAP in Adult Mental Health
* Experience of delivering a Group Programme
* Experience of working in a multi‑professional team
* Significant experience in assessment and formulation
Desirable and essential
* Evidence of training/CPD to develop knowledge and theory relevant to the specialism.
* Demonstrated ability to work under own initiative and as part of a team.
* Eligible for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) of the British Psychological Society via qualification recognition or by alternative route.
* Experience of working with 3rd sector VCSE organisations.
* Experience of co‑production.
