1. This Senior Tax Manager role is a critical appointment within the Group Finance function, ensuring the effective day-to-day running of the Group tax team while supporting the ongoing evolution of the groups tax strategy,pliance, controls and operating model.
2. The Senior Tax Manager will oversee UK and international corporate tax, lead on transfer pricing review and overhaul, and provide effective oversight across other taxes including employment taxes and VAT. The role will also play a key part in managing external advisors and driving work in‑house where appropriate.
Key ResponsibilitiesTaxernance & Controls
3. Design and build the Group’s taxernance framework, policies and controls
4. Formalise and developpliance with UK, European and other International applicable statutory requirements, directives and guidelines including CCO, SAO, BRR, CFC, BEPS and OECD
5. Strengthen tax processes, documentation and internal controls across the Group
6. Support Group-level reporting, including uncertain tax positions where relevant
UK Corporate Tax
7. Lead UK corporation taxpliance and reporting, includingputations, filings and payments. Work to bring this in-house
8. Manage UK tax provisions and support statutory and group reporting processes
9. Act as primary contact for HMRC matters, enquiries and correspondence
10. Lead on the R&D claim process
Global Corporation Tax Oversight
11. Provide oversight and coordination of corporate taxpliance across the group and in particular the US, European and APAC territories.
12. Support with local tax filings and issues where relevant
13. Ensure consistent application of Group tax policies across jurisdictions
14. Monitor global tax developments and assess their impact on the Group
Global Tax Accounting
15. Lead the external tax reporting process for half year and year end
16. Build in-house capabilities to manage this process reducing the reliance on external specialists
17. Manage the monthly tax accounting and reporting requirements including reconciliations, bookings into ERP system and related invoicing
18. Develop clear guidance on tax implications of intepany transactions
19. Manage relationship with auditors and advisors
Transfer Pricing
20. Manage and improve the transfer pricing policies and processes, reducing reliance on external specialists
21. Ensure transfer pricing policies arepliant, robust and aligned with business operations
22. Oversee preparation and maintenance of transfer pricing documentation
Other Taxes
23. Provide oversight across employment taxes, VAT and other indirect taxes
24. Ensure appropriate controls,pliance and risk management across these areas.
25. Support regional financial controllers and other stakeholders with tax audits and reviews with tax authorities
Team & Stakeholder Management
26. Manage and develop a geographically dispersed Group tax team
27. Coordinate effectively with Finance, Legal and other internal stakeholders
28. Manage relationships with external advisors and drive efficiency and value for money
29. Reduce reliance on external advisors by bringing core activities in-house over time
Candidate ProfileEssential Experience & Skills:
30. Strong UK corporate tax expertise within a multinational group
31. Proven experience in transfer pricing, including policy design and documentation
32. Experience of managing day-to-day tax operations in aplex, international business
33. Strong knowledge of global tax regulations, transfer pricing guidelines and IFRS tax requirements.
34. Good working knowledge of other taxes, particularly in UK (employment taxes, RDEC, VAT)
35. Experience dealing with HMRC and managing enquiries
36. Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic business environment
37. Strongmunications skills
