Cygnet Group is recruiting a Mental Health Act Administrator to ensure compliance with the Mental Health Act 1983 at Cygnet Cedars and Cygnet Elms.
The role involves working 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm), with a split of 3 days at Cygnet Cedars (24 hours) and 2 days at Cygnet Elms (16 hours).
Cygnet Cedars (B9 5LY) is a 24-bed high dependency complex care service for men with learning disabilities and associated complex needs, including behaviours that challenge. The team is experienced in managing emergency referrals efficiently to ensure smooth transitions.
Cygnet Elms (B23 7BD) is a high dependency care service for 10 women with learning disabilities and complex needs. It supports individuals stepping down from more secure settings, providing personalized care to help them develop skills for community integration.

Day-to-day responsibilities at Cygnet Cedars & Cygnet Elms include:
* Scrutinising section papers and ensuring paperwork compliance with legal frameworks, reporting issues to the MHAA Lead.
* Updating databases and spreadsheets with expiry dates and hearing schedules.
* Notifying relevant parties about report deadlines and hearing dates.
* Chasing reports for Tribunal and Managers Hearings.
* Arranging hospital managers' attendance at hearings.
* Assisting the Tribunal Clerk with room setup, paperwork, and liaising with the panel.
* Data input of Section dates into Cygnet Databases.
* Completing Mental Health Act Audits using corporate templates.
* Adapting to new protocols for tribunals and hearings, especially in response to COVID-19.
* Taking minutes during meetings when required.
* Liaising with external agencies and multidisciplinary teams within hospital settings.
Ideal candidates will have:
* Previous administration experience, including report preparation, meeting organization, and liaising with healthcare clients.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
* GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths.
* Exceptional organizational skills.
* Experience working in healthcare alongside medical practitioners.
* Knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 (MHA 2007).
* Understanding of compliance and auditing systems (CQC).
* Experience taking minutes during meetings.
* Willingness to work in a mental health environment.
