Role: Mechanical Engineer (Test & Development)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join an exciting client based in Bedfordshire. This role offers a unique blend of hands‑on testing, data analysis, and customer-facing engineering work within a highly respected test and development environment.
Key responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Coordinate testing activities across site, acting as a clear technical point of contact
Analyse test data and produce well-structured technical reports suitable for both internal review and customer-facing use
Turn customer objectives and internal research ideas into well-defined test plans, including cost estimates and delivery timelines
Assist with on-site customer support and technical visits when required
Build expertise in current and emerging mechanical and automotive test methodologies
Support technical training sessions for commercial teams and external partners
Assist with vehicle fleet trials
Communicate technical findings clearly to engineers, sales teams, and external stakeholders.
About you:
Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical engineering experience
Comfortable working with test data and confident using MS Excel for analysis and reporting
Able to explain technical information clearly, whether in written reports, presentations, or face‑to‑face discussions
Naturally collaborative, with the confidence to work across teams and with external partners.
