Job Overview
We are looking for a Commercial Services Manager to support the Commercial Assurance and Framework Management (CAFM) team within the Environment Agency. This role delivers commercial governance and value for money across key contracts, supports pathfinder programmes, and builds collaborative partnerships with consultants and contractors.
Responsibilities
* Support the team that oversees commercial governance of contracts with key consultancies and contractors.
* Set up and manage pathfinder programmes that embed best practice and develop long-term partnership arrangements.
* Champion commercial assurance and governance across country‑wide Integrated Delivery Management teams and the wider Project Management community.
* Build and maintain strong relationships internally and externally, becoming an expert on contractual and commercial interpretation.
* Undertake required training and participate in incident response duties when called upon.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
* A‑Level or equivalent Level 3 qualification.
* Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.
* Experience in stakeholder management.
* Competent data and document management capabilities.
* Commercial acumen: ability to analyse business situations, assess risk and deliver value‑for‑money solutions.
* Administrative skills: strong organisational ability, minutes taking and report drafting.
* Willingness to pursue professional qualifications (e.g. NEC training, CIPS).
* Interest in infrastructure, construction or environmental programmes.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
* Degree or equivalent professional qualification.
* Progressing towards status with a recognised professional body such as ICE, CIWEM, APM, CIPS or RICS.
* Formal training in contract management (e.g. NEC, Contract Management Capability Programme).

Additional Information
This role is delivered via hybrid working. Travel to other locations may be required, with occasional overnight stays.
