Platfform has been funded by the Welsh Government to deliver a new and innovative service for children and young people experiencing emotional distress. Platfform has developed an early mental health support Hub which provides timely and out of hours support for children and young people aged 11-18. The Hangout is one part of the regional provision for children and young people’s mental health. The service provides a range of support and links in with other provisions delivered by partners, including Swansea Bay Health Board, local authorities and third sector organisations to provide children and young people with the best possible experience.
There is a strong emphasis on this service being developed alongside children and young people so that it understands and meets their needs. The service provides one-to-one wellbeing support, group-based activities, including therapeutic interventions, social events and community led initiatives.
Platfform is seeking a wellbeing practitioner to support the work of The Hangout, through providing trauma informed, direct support to children and young people, delivering group sessions and activities/events. We are looking for someone who can bring a deep understanding of relationship-based practice with an ability to communicate, educate, coach and support young people to improve their wellbeing. We are seeking practitioners who understand a trauma informed approach and who can support emotional regulation and provide one off and ongoing support and signposting for the young people who access The Hangout.
You will work closely with the Service Manager and wider team of practitioners and will be provided with reflective practice, alongside guidance and support from the team’s Senior Assistant Psychologist. This is an exciting time to join Platfform as we continue to develop this service and bring the regional vision of quick, effective, and accessible wellbeing support for children and young people to life.
