The Job Mission
This is a site‑based role located in Bridgwater. Relocation support is available for candidates moving closer to the site. As a Piping Engineer, you will support the delivery of the mechanical, electrical, and HVAC piping scope at Hinkley Point C. You will gain exposure to site‑based engineering, contributing to installation activities and learning from experienced engineers as you help deliver one of the UK’s most important energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Assisting with the management of piping installation within designated site areas
* Preparing and updating technical documentation and inspection plans
* Supporting the resolution of construction queries and technical issues
* Reviewing and coordinating contractor deliverables with senior engineers
* Helping to maintain works information documents and records
* Providing input during technical discussions and project meetings
* Ensuring construction activities align with quality and safety requirements
* Supporting post‑construction activities such as pressure testing and inspection packs
Key Qualifications
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or relevant discipline)
* Some experience within engineering or construction environments
* Knowledge of engineering standards and safe working practices
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multi‑disciplinary team
* Good problem‑solving and analytical skills
* Willingness to develop technical expertise in a site‑based role
* Experience in large infrastructure or energy projects
* Understanding of piping design or installation practices
* Awareness of UK construction safety regulations (CDM)
* Interest in developing towards Chartered Engineer status
