About this job

This Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Associate role offers a unique opportunity to work at the interface of academic research and applied practice, leading a transformative project with Codi Group, the largest registered social landlord (RSL) in Wales.

Codi Group is a newly formed RSL following the merger of Pobl and Linc Cymru, and this project will develop and deliver a “Large and Local Transformation Methodology,” designed to enhance customer excellence, deepen customer and community engagement, and improve organisational health.

This is a high‑profile initiative with significant scope and impact, offering the chance to shape innovative approaches to service delivery within the social housing sector.

The Associate will be responsible for translating evidence into practice and practice back into evidence, ensuring that learning from research directly informs organisational strategy and operations.

The role requires strong qualitative and quantitative research skills, with the ability to analyse complex data, generate actionable recommendations and evaluate outcomes.

With the support of an academic (Dr Dan Bowers) and business supervisor (Vikki Hiscocks), the Associate will be a bridge between USW and Codi, embedding a culture of evidence‑based decision‑making that drives sustainable transformation.

Success in this role will depend not only on technical expertise but also on excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.

The Associate will engage with a wide range of stakeholders which will range from customers and frontline staff to senior leadership and board members.

As such they will require the confidence to influence, inspire and lead change at multiple levels.

A background in training, coaching, or change management will be advantageous, alongside the ability to think strategically and act collaboratively.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a postdoctoral researcher seeking to apply their expertise to real‑world challenges while developing high‑level professional skills in leadership, innovation, and organisational transformation.

This is a genuinely exciting post with significant opportunities for professional and personal growth.

As part of the KTP programme, the Associate will have access to high‑quality residential courses run by Innovate UK, alongside a dedicated £2,000 annual budget for personal development as well as opportunities to attend national and international conferences.

The role also offers the chance to become part of a growing research and practice network with national reach (USW Housing and Health Research Network), while working within a registered social landlord of real scale and influence.

For someone who wants to make a tangible, positive impact on communities while building a dynamic career profile, this is a truly outstanding opportunity.

This is a full‑time post for a fixed‑term period of 2.5 years (30 months). For an informal conversation about this post please contact Dr Dan Bowers.
