The Role
As a Project Manager, you will have a role that is out of the ordinary and will be responsible for the delivery of high-value projects within our Platform Design Life Support team, helping to shape the future of ships and submarines by delivering outstanding maritime services globally.
You will play a crucial role in supporting the front line of the UKs national security, working to help protect the nation. You will be delivering complex projects to meet customers’ requirements utilising Strategic Maritime Facilities and Capabilities.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Development and maintenance of positive engagement with project customers, partners and suppliers
2. Operating in a Safe & Secure manner, embedding a culture in line with the QinetiQ values and reporting progress on all accountabilities to Programme / Portfolio Manager
3. Delivery of the project outputs to agreed baseline
4. Ensuring project members operate in line with the Operating Framework
5. Resolving conflicts within the project and collaborating across QinetiQ
6. Maintenance of forecasts for sales and delivery which reflects the up-to-date expectations for the work
Essential experience of the Project Manager:
7. Demonstrable capability to International Project Management Association Level C
8. Experience gained in an engineering or defence-based industry and delivering complex projects
9. Experience delivering projects to 3 different customers
10. A strong understanding of Maritime, Aerospace or Rail would be an advantage
Essential qualifications for the Project Manager:
11. A project management qualification or certification
This role is 37 hours per week based at Haslar, Gosport. Hybrid working patterns are available.
Our facilities at the Haslar Marine Technology Park are state-of-the-art, including our ocean basin rotating arm, and marine towing tank, offering an unparalleled environment for testing and refining designs. Our marine technology offers our global customers a service to deliver constrained hydrodynamic model tests of surface ships, submarines, offshore structures, and renewable energy devices.
