Overview
Senior Admin Lead – a role that combines leadership and administrative excellence to support the Practice Manager in delivering a high quality service to patients across two sites (Amble and Broomhill) within the Northumbria Primary Care group.
Northumbria Primary Care Ltd (NPC) is a pioneering partnership with local GPs, managing several GP practices that serve around 120,000 registered patients in Northumberland and North Tyneside. While the incumbent will have a base practice within NPC, they may be asked to work at other practices across the group, though continuity is respected wherever possible.
Responsibilities
* Provide and be responsible for day‑to‑day management of reception and administrative staff.
* Provide comprehensive administrative service to GP's and other health care professionals.
* Allocate work and supervise other admin staff.
* Actively participate in the improvement of procedures and developments in primary care involving reception support.
* Actively engage in patient experience initiatives, ensuring appropriate communication between staff across all NPC sites.
* Role model compassionate and inclusive leadership, promoting a culture of engagement, empowerment, coaching and collaboration within and across teams and departments.
* Act as responsible to the Practice Manager and act up in absence of the Practice Manager for periods of annual leave or short‑term sickness.
* Supervise reception/administrative staff to ensure provision of a high quality service.
* Manage diaries/appointments, arrange/minute meetings and communicate with GP's and patients.
* Advanced typing and transcription of clinical and non‑clinical documents (OCR 3 or equivalent qualification/experience).
* Support effective utilization of clinic capacity.
* Support management of patient journeys including target administration such as GP referrals, Cancer 2WW and communications to GP's.
* Support the Practice Lead with induction and training of new staff, share knowledge with colleagues and supervise apprentices when required.
* Resource management – ordering of supplies and equipment.
* Allocate and manage training and work patterns within reception services.
