The Role
We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Fitter with experience in assembling, maintaining, and servicing pneumatic machinery. Experience with servo-assisted systems is a plus. You will be responsible for the fitting, installation, and servicing of pneumatic systems used in our machinery, ensuring all work meets our high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
* Assemble, fit, and test machinery components, with a focus on pneumatic and servo systems.
* Perform maintenance, fault-finding, and repairs on pneumatic machinery.
* Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and schematics.
* Use precision tools and measuring equipment to ensure accuracy.
* Support the installation and commissioning of new machinery.
* Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and team members to meet project goals.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures and company standards.
* Maintain accurate records of completed work and parts used.
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience as a mechanical fitter.
* Knowledge of pneumatic systems and components.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
* Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Awareness of health and safety best practices.
* Experience with servo-assisted machinery (advantageous but not essential).
* NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering (desirable).
