What you’ll be responsible for

* To provide specialist paediatric dietetic advice for patients who may require complex dietetic intervention and to monitor and adapt their treatment accordingly in an inpatient/outpatient setting (general paediatric outpatients and inpatients and home enteral feeding).
* To produce nutrition education resources, diet sheets and patient literature, ensuring that these convey complex nutritional information in an understandable form for clients who may have barriers to understanding.
* To organise, plan, deliver and evaluate nutrition education sessions to groups including health care professionals (NHS and non-NHS), patients, carers and the general public.
* To provide a key role in service development and service changes, including policy development and proposal of new specialist services.
* To keep accurate and comprehensive records in accordance with Trust and Dietetic Department standards.
* Liaise closely with the Dietetic Manager and other Dietitians in the District to provide a comprehensive and cohesive dietetic service.


You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust

1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation


You’ll have the following skills/experience

* BSc or equivalent degree in Dietetics or Post Graduate Diploma in Dietetics.
* HCPC Registered.
* Experience of complex nutrition support practices, including enteral and parenteral nutrition practices.
* Can demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.

In addition to experience, all Qualified roles will be required to provide evidence of

* Relevant Qualifications
* Registration with the relevant Registration Body if applicable.

This is part of Regulation 22 and we want to ensure we give candidates the heads up to have their qualifications ready to prevent delays when we onboard at Trust ID stage.
