This is an exciting opportunity to work in a busy training practice of 15600 patients. We are looking to expand our medicines management team which includes 2 clinical pharmacists and our experienced pharmacy technician. The successful candidate will have a variety of tasks within this role to expand on their training and experience. Supporting the medicines management team in the first instance you will be involved in medication reconciliation, discharge letters, audits, and clinical project work. The main focus initially will be on medication reconciliation from discharge letters.The role can be full time or part time and may include some home working, as we are aiming to be as flexible as possible for the right applicant.
This is a PCN supported role.
Main duties of the job We are looking for an enthusiastic, forward thinking team player with a proven track record in an existing pharmacy technician role. You will be required to undertake the CPPE pathway for pharmacy technicians during your working hours.With the ability to work on your own as well as part of a team, you will have the motivation to create ideas for improvement in medicines management and be part of ongoing change within the practice.

We are proud of our focus on staff welfare and well-being and as a newly merged team have worked hard to engender a team spirit that shows in commitment and enthusiasm across the practice.We host various specialities- midwives, community nursing, podiatry, physiotherapy, speech and language, urology etc.Our practice team comprises, care navigators, nurses, HCAs, administration, medicines management, salaried GPs, partners, physiotherapist, social prescribers,pharmacists, paramedic and advanced nurse practitioner.

It is essential that the successful applicant has achieved a minimum of 1 years pharmacy technician training in the NHS.
The applicant will also be expected to complete the appropriate pathway training for pharmacy technicians if they have not already done so. This is an 18 month course supported by the PCN and the practice.
Person Specification Qualifications GCSE grade A to C in English and Mathematics (or equivalent)
BTEC/NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or near completion or equivalent (essential)
Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (essential)
Methodical and accurate approach to practical tasks
Ability to follow procedures and processes
Commitment to continuing professional development and training
