AWE is looking for a Team leader 3D Capture and Smart Technologies (3DCaST).
The 3D Capture and Smart Technologies Team delivers a range of technologies to support AWE's core mission, including reverse engineering, model-based inspection, large volume metrology, data measurement, unmanned aerial vehicle deployment, robotics, and autonomous systems.
As the Team leader of an enabling technologies team, you will be part of a core group of leaders and specialists that will help shape the future of engineering at AWE, delivering service and research and development activities across the business. The role offers a great career development opportunity.
This role involves working with local task managers and technical leads to ensure continued capability availability along with research and development work to support the business.

We are looking for candidates with experience in:
* Delivering objectives and project deliverables
* Planning and executing tasks on time, controlling costs and quality
* Understanding hazards and risks, safely using specialized equipment
* Maintaining high standards in environment, safety, health, security, and quality
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Managing team welfare, performance, and development
* Ensuring staff training is current, including Laser Safety
* Recruitment, staff development, and team strategy
* Liaising with customers and stakeholders, owning the team order book
* Building collaborative links within the organization and with industry/academic partners
* Coaching and mentoring team members
Candidates should demonstrate:
* Understanding of mechanical engineering theory and practice
* Experience managing small engineering projects
* Knowledge of Quality Systems
* Good communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills
* Technical background in engineering design
* Knowledge of 3D Data Capture tools and Robotics
Ideal candidates will have a degree or equivalent in science or engineering, or HND/HNC. Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain security clearance and travel within the UK and overseas as required.
