History Teacher Location: Bury Start Date: ASAP until end of academic year (July 2026) Salary: Main Pay Scale/Upper Pay Scale (dependent on experience) We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated History Teacher to join our secondary school on a temporary basis for the remainder of the academic year. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver engaging History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5) Assess, monitor and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development Maintain high standards of behaviour and create a positive learning environment Contribute to the development of the History curriculum and departmental resources Support students' wider academic and personal development through pastoral responsibilities Attend department meetings, parents' evenings and school events as required Follow school policies and procedures, including safeguarding protocols Essential Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification Strong subject knowledge in History across relevant key stages Ability to inspire and motivate students of varying abilities Excellent classroom management skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Commitment to high standards and continuous improvement Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) Desirable: Experience teaching History at secondary level Familiarity with current GCSE and/or A-Level History specifications Evidence of innovative teaching approaches and use of technology What We Offer: A supportive and collaborative department Professional development opportunities Well-resourced teaching facilities Dedicated support staff How to Apply: To apply, simply click the link below or contact our team at for more information.
