A leading engineering and robotics company is seeking an experienced Electrical / Mechanical Build Technician to join their team on a 12-month contract in Bristol. This is a hands-on role requiring a high level of precision, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assemble precision mechanical and electrical components to engineering drawings
* Conduct quality assurance checks on optical and mechanical assemblies
* Kit components for builds in line with technical documentation
* Collaborate with engineers to build and improve test rigs using rapid prototyping tools (e.g. 3D printing, laser cutting)
* Run basic software scripts for testing purposes
* Inspect incoming mechanical parts and ensure compliance with drawings
* Document QA and build procedures clearly and accurately
* Manage goods-in and organise outbound shipments
* Maintain a safe, organised, and positive workshop environment
Required Skills & Experience:
* HNC or higher in a relevant technical field
* Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings
* Strong assembly and mechanical inspection experience
* Working knowledge of ISO 9000 quality standards and traceability processes
* Excellent attention to detail and quality assurance focus
* Flexible and solution-oriented with strong communication skills
