Arun Counselling Centre has been delivering impactful and affordable counselling to the people of West Sussex for over 40 years. We also run CPD training programmes for Counsellors and offer placements to students. We are ambitious about growth.
Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for a Trustee to have a long‑term role in a charity that supports people accessing the counselling and therapeutic support they need, whilst playing an active role in developing future counsellors.
Responsibilities
* Attend at least one board meeting per quarter
* Spend up to two hours per month reviewing proposals and documents between meetings
* Support the board in growing the number of Trustees and diversifying skills and experience
* Assist the Director of Operations and Fundraising Lead in steering the charity’s growth and income objectives
* Help expand client services and improve training and development offerings to increase income and support more clients
Qualifications
* Life experience or lived experience of mental health is highly valued; professional experience in the sector is not required
* Experience in the public or private sector, particularly in finance, marketing & communications, training & development, or project management, is desirable
* Current Trustees include qualified Counsellors and those with psychology backgrounds; expertise from other areas is welcomed
Commitments
* One board meeting per quarter
* Up to two hours per month between meetings for review work (additional time welcomed as desired)
