Family Lawyer (Solicitor or Legal Executive)
Salary: CIRCA £45K DOE
Location: Leeds

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Family Lawyer to join a well-established and expanding legal practice within their Leeds office. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Solicitor or Legal Executive with a strong background in family and childcare law to join a supportive and growing team.

As a Family Lawyer, you will manage a varied caseload covering both publicly funded and private matters, working within a collaborative environment that encourages professional development and progression. The successful candidate will play an active role in supporting the continued growth of the department while maintaining high standards of client care and legal service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage a varied caseload including care proceedings and PLO matters.
Handle private law children matters and general family law cases.
Manage domestic abuse matters including Non Molestation and Occupation Orders.
Advise on general family matters including cohabitation and unmarried couple disputes.
Conduct advocacy where appropriate.
Provide high-quality client care and maintain strong professional relationships.
Contribute to business development and networking activities.
Undertake both Legal Aid and privately funded work.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to support team performance and service delivery.
What are we looking for

Minimum of 3 years’ PQE as a Solicitor or Legal Executive in family law.
Strong experience in childcare and family matters.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
Competent and confident in undertaking advocacy.
Understanding of Legal Aid processes and requirements.
Willingness to work towards panel accreditation.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Ability to generate and manage private client work.
A proactive individual who can quickly integrate into an established caseload.
