Summary of Role To manage a portfolio of products within a defined strategic market. Analysing the success of the product portfolio and deciding if new product introductions are appropriate and the potential impact on the portfolio. Close co-operation with international teams to define and find consensus on new market segment, product, and development strategies. You will lead all aspects of your product portfolio – working within the wider team to increase sales, profitability, market share, and brand recognition. Responsibilities Customer-oriented Product Strategy Proactively contribute towards Product Strategy, understanding market and technology trends to maintain and prioritise relevant business growth. Customer centric mindset, translating customer requirements and trends into compelling New Product business cases. Strong stakeholder communication skills, working together as a team to form comprehensive plans for successful go to market activities. New product introduction. Manage the new product process ensuring the right product is selected. Regularly monitor market conditions and competitor activity and advise on product positioning, pricing, short- and long-term marketing and business plans, forecasting, future market demand, sales projections, pricing and profit margins, and report market information to the business. Develop a business case for new product introduction considering the impact on the whole product portfolio. Being able to write a detailed and relevant Business Case taking in to account the needs of all stakeholders. Co-ordinate sales and marketing campaigns, ensuring product pricing is competitive. Conduct market research and competitor analysis. Develop product pricing strategies. Determine margin for all brands. Working with other product managers, identify any additional components we would need to supply in order for our customers to have a complete solution (meters, cables, etc). Write and deliver new product launch plans. Assess initial demand through market research and consultation with all relevant internal and external sources to develop an initial procurement plan. Assess and quantify impact on the existing portfolio Retain a Competitive Advantage Ensuring product strategy aligns with company strategy. Understand market changes and how they affect product strategies and communicate this to the wider business. Run competitor research and analysis to stay aware of and ahead of competitive differentiators, driving product introductions and sales positioning. Guide marketing and sales with required product training (internal and external). Ensure marketing are briefed and prepared so they can initiate sales & marketing plans. Conduct pricing reviews. Product End of Life Manage End of Life cycle for the whole range of products to make sure aging stock is cleared efficiently. Manage monthly or quarterly stock Write-Down process. Assess the impact of one End of Life product line in one warehouse on our other product ranges, our customers, our departments, and our other global offices. Manage phase out/phase in and stock.
