Finance Assistant
Location: Gosport, Hampshire
The role: Due to continued expansion, we are now looking to appoint a self-motivated, and detail-orientated Finance Assistant, to join our Finance Department, at our Head Office, in Gosport, Hampshire.
This newly created role will provide essential support to our Finance Department, in managing financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with financial reporting, as well as providing support across all functions within Finance, requiring a high level of attention to detail and accuracy when using the financial software.
There is also a requirement of occasional travel to other OPA UK locations, therefore a full (preferably clean) driving licence is essential.
Responsibilities:
* Contributing to the smooth running of the company’s accounts payable, expenses, and credit card functions.
* Checking the validity of purchase invoices before processing and matching with purchase orders.
* Checking supplier statements and requesting copy documentation if required.
* Querying supplier invoices with PO requisitioners and suppliers when necessary.
* Complying with company procedure and Procurement department to ensure supplier details are up to date.
* Ensuring expenses are correctly authorised and coded in line with company policy.
* Ensuring credit card transaction are correctly authorised and coded in line with company policy.
* Querying staff expenses and credit card transactions with employees when necessary.
* Helping to ensure there are written procedures available for all routine tasks.
* Maintaining the finance email box by responding to emails and escalating queries where necessary.
* Adhoc duties which may be required from time to time.
The candidate: Previous finance experience is advantageous but not essential, and the successful candidate must have a strong desire to grow and develop within the finance field, and take on increasing responsibilities over time.
This entry-level position is perfect for someone looking to begin their career in finance, and is open to school leavers or university graduates with strong A-Levels.
