Overview
This position is located at Unit 3 Forli Strada, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, PE73HH United Kingdom. This role is responsible for leading a team of 3 (2 direct reports) in accurately tracking, analysing, and reporting on EU transportation costs (DTC deliveries + Retail freight) to ensure optimal decision-making across the EU Finance and Supply Chain functions. The role can be based in either our London home office (Brick Lane) or Peterborough DC, reporting into the Head of Supply Chain Finance, and is the finance lead for the Transportation team.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Lead a team of 2 Accountants and develop a strong, highly capable team who are self-motivated to improve all processes and outputs.
* Own the month-end process, executed to a high degree of accuracy and timeliness (including management of invoice tracker process, postings, maintaining accurate accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations).
* Report and communicate monthly performance and variance analysis in the context of operational KPIs; articulate on the monthly review calls along with any R&Os.
* Own the Transportation Monthly forecasting, annual budgeting and long-range planning (LRP) cycles.
* Partner Outbound & Inbound Logistics teams to optimise cost and improve speed to destination of all transportation movements, in line with brand strategy.
* Maintain additional relationship management with various teams including Brands and AP.
* Drive a continuous improvement agenda across financial processes to improve speed, accuracy, and quality.
What You’ll Need
* A fully qualified individual with relevant accounting/finance experience, ideally within the retail/FMCG industry, with previous commercial experience.
* High degree of initiative and ownership, a motivated self-starter who is continually curious and thrives in a fast-paced and evolving environment where change is the norm.
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret data in various formats, and an excellent standard of verbal and written communication.
* Able to meet deadlines, work with pace and urgency; capable of balancing multiple priorities with a disciplined, logical, and practical approach to problem solving.
* Excellent skills in MS Office Suite, with a heavy focus on Excel; knowledge of Oracle or Hyperion financial systems is a plus.
