What will I be doing?
As a Wheel Lathe Operative, you will be operating the wheel lathe machine, which is used primarily to reprofile and the maintenance of the wheels. Typical duties will include:
1. Operating and programming the wheel lathe machine
2. Measuring and inspecting wheels
3. Making sure the lathe and associated tools are properly maintained
4. Reading technical drawings
5. Ensuring safety and compliance is upheld at all times to company standards
Hours wise, the shift will be operating on a 4 on 4 off basis, covering days & nights.
What do we need?
6. 1-year minimum experience as a Machinist
7. Must complete a criminal convictions questionnaire as part of the application process
8. Be able to pass a DBS
9. Be able to pass a Drugs & Alcohol test
10. Be able to pass a full rail medical – this will include, eyesight, hearing, heart, lungs, etc…
11. Provide your Right to Work documents before deployment
12. Happy to help mentality/attitude.
