Job Description
Atlassian Williams Racing’s Technology & Innovation Group (TIG) is modernising our tech capabilities to gain a competitive edge in Formula 1. From data-driven software and systems to cutting edge AI, including Atlassian at the core, we’re elevating technology’s role in race performance and accelerating development speed. In a budget-capped sport, smart technology is how we stay ahead - harnessing data, driving efficiency, and giving our engineers the tools to maximise every tenth of performance.
Within Technology & Innovation, our teams focus on:
Strategy & Operations
The Pit Wall of Technology and Innovation is the strategic nerve centre for our technology platforms, providing direction, oversight, and governance to ensure alignment with performance goals and long-term sustainability. Operating at the intersection of cutting-edge engineering and high-stakes motorsport, this team enables data-driven decision-making, fosters innovation, and ensures that our digital infrastructure delivers consistent, high-performance outcomes across all areas of the business.
Software Engineering
At Williams, bespoke software tools quietly power performance across the car, delivering impact you can feel, not always see. The Software Development Team creates these tools, working in focused sub-teams to support key areas like Aerodynamics, Vehicle Dynamics, and Vehicle Performance. Together, they turn data into decisions and innovation into speed.
Data & AI
The Data & AI team help turn data into performance at Williams Racing. You’ll work across departments to develop intelligent systems that power everything from race strategy to real-time simulations. At the heart of it all is our race intelligence system the car’s brain where unified data makes the car smarter, faster, and sharper.
We are hiring for the following roles:
* AI/Machine Learning Graduate
Join the Technology and Innovation Group (TIG) at Williams Racing as an AI + Machine Learning Graduate, where you’ll help develop intelligent systems that drive performance on and off the track. This is a hands-on opportunity to apply your skills in machine learning, data science, statistics and simulation to real-world motorsport challenges.
* Software Engineer (Enterprise Systems - PLM Integration) Graduate
As a Software Engineer Graduate within the Enterprise Systems team, you'll play a key role in developing and integrating bespoke software solutions that support our Engineering and Operations functions, with a focus on PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems. Working closely with engineers across areas like Aerodynamics, Vehicle Dynamics, and Vehicle Performance, you'll help translate user needs into high-performance tools that enhance reliability, efficiency, and innovation. This is a hands-on opportunity to contribute to systems that quietly power performance, while gaining experience in cross-functional collaboration and impactful software development.
* Software Engineer / Data Engineer Graduate
As a Graduate Software/Data Engineer in the Enterprise Systems team at Williams Racing, you’ll help design and develop integrated software and data solutions that support core engineering and operational functions, with a focus on PLM systems. This role blends software development with data engineering, giving you the opportunity to build tools that streamline workflows, manage complex datasets, and enhance collaboration across teams like Aerodynamics and Vehicle Dynamics. You’ll work closely with users to understand their needs and deliver scalable, high-impact solutions that contribute directly to performance and innovation.
