We are seeking a professional to lead technical excellence by collaborating with all SAICA FLEX local technical teams, aiming to be recognized by our customers as a value-adding, proactive partner through technical and innovative approaches.
Specific Tasks/Accountabilities
1. Apply Group Policies: Equal Opportunities, Environment, Quality, and Health & Safety.
2. Understand customer expectations on Sustainability, Product Development, and Value Engineering; collect and communicate customer needs to the KAM, SIM community, and RDI team to develop suitable technical solutions.
3. Define, execute, and monitor projects within the Operational Master Plan (OMP) in alignment with KAM and RSD priorities.
4. Lead Sustainability and Total Cost of Ownership projects (e.g., Recyclability, LCA, End-to-End analysis) in assigned customer accounts, coordinating with the Sustainability Manager and MIM team.
5. Coordinate with KAM, RDI, and site technical teams to define and execute Value Engineering projects and improve costs/margins of new technical solutions.
6. Manage trial schedules for new business onboarding with site PDEs and support trials at customer sites as needed.
7. Respond to innovation contests invited by customers, leading our responses effectively.
8. Address major technical issues promptly, in coordination with Quality and PDE teams, to protect SFX branding.
9. Drive continuous performance improvements and co-innovation with customers.
10. Build relationships within customer R&D and technical communities to position SFX as a preferred partner.
11. Familiarize with customer factories supplied by SFX, including main FFS lines.
12. Participate as an executive member in Account Team meetings and support customer meetings with prepared presentations.
13. Follow procedures outlined in the SFSS manual regarding the TS role.
14. Ensure communication and reporting align with Sales & Marketing procedures, fostering stakeholder alignment.
15. Support onboarding training for new SFX Sales team members.
16. Engage in personal training and development, reporting skill gaps and supporting new initiatives.
17. Perform any additional duties as assigned by the line manager, within the scope of the role.
Skills, Qualifications & Attributes
1. University degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or related fields.
2. Knowledge of Polymers and Plastic Science.
3. Understanding of Flexible Packaging.
4. Project Management skills.
5. Minimum 3 years' experience as a sales director, product development manager, or production manager in industrial and commercial settings, preferably sector-specific experience.
6. At least 1 year of experience related to flexible processes.
7. Basic training in Q.S.E.
