RSPB We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Estate Worker to join our team. Location: RSPB Norfolk Broads Reserves – Strumpshaw Fen, Sutton Fen & Berney Marshes Terms: Permanent, Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week Salary: £24,571.00 - £26,231.00 Per Annum These reserves offer a complex mix of habitats which are home to an amazing array of wildlife including some of our most iconic and threatened species such as Swallowtail Butterfly, Fen Raft Spider, Fen Orchid, Crane, Bittern, and some of the best surviving populations of breeding wading birds in lowland England. This role is incredibly varied and rewarding, whether that is leading on the upkeep of visitor and estate infrastructure, checking cattle, driving the tractor or using and maintaining a variety of machinery to undertake habitat management. Key Responsibilities • Maintenance of buildings and infrastructure to ensure they are operating as required. • Maintenance of livestock infrastructure and assisting with the welfare of livestock to ensure we meet all animal welfare and cross compliance legislation. • Routine operation, record keeping, servicing and maintenance of machinery and vehicles to ensure they are operating safely and efficiently. • Habitat management and grounds maintenance to ensure conservation and visitor experience targets are being met. • Keeping up to date health and safety records to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and to enable improvements to be set. Essential: • Proven experience in delivering high-quality practical estate maintenance work. • Experience and aptitude for operating, maintaining, and servicing machinery, tools, and vehicles including record keeping • Experience in practical land management. • Good people skills with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships. • Understanding of health and safety requirements and the ability to create risk assessments and follow safe working practices. • A demonstrated passion for conservation and wildlife Additional information: • This role will involve lone working and working in remote locations. • This role will require occasional weekend, early morning and evening working so will need someone who is able to be flexible.
