Startup and Innovation Manager, ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA UK
The Austrian Embassy – Commercial Section in London is looking for a committed, outgoing and well-organised graduate for the role as Startup & Innovation Manager. The position will be full time (100%) and a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2027 (an extension might be possible).

The ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA UK / Commercial Section at the Austrian Embassy in London is one of the 100 service centres operated by Austria’s foreign commercial service (ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA) in over 70 countries around the world. Our mission is to provide worldwide business support to Austrian companies. At the London office, 10 experts assist Austrian companies with market surveys and business intelligence, business partner search and advisory services, events and networking opportunities to enable trade, investment, R&D cooperation, technology transfers, financing and sourcing.
As our Startup and Innovation Manager your mission will be to bring the best of Austrian innovation, startups and scaleups to the UK and to connect Austrian business with the best of UK innovation.
Your tasks:
· Advising Austrian startups and scaleups from various sectors on market entry strategies and helping them identify qualified business partners in the UK.
· Actively monitoring growth sectors, identifying opportunities, and creating relevant (digital) content.
· Organising events such as workshops, pitching sessions, trade fairs or webinars.
· Developing strong relationships with key stakeholders, key accounts, trusted experts, partners and service providers in Austria and the UK.
· Supporting our Head of Technology in the design and delivery of innovation programs and events.
Your profile:
· We need somebody who is creative, quick on their feet and service-minded. You will be a people’s person with above average communication skills.
· You bring an inspiring and engaging energy to our team and are not afraid to start new ideas from scratch and scale them together with partners.
· We expect personal integrity, trustworthiness and discretion, the ability to work both independently and as part of a team and a flexible approach to a varied workload.
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree; a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience is preferred.
· Excellent communication (verbal and written) in English and German.
· Advanced digital skills and curiosity to adopt and learn new applications.
· Life and work experience in the UK is essential; applicants with UK work permit are preferred.
