EHC Practitioner Location: Nottinghamshire NG18 Working Pattern: 1 day office-based, 4 days remote Rate: £40.80 per hour Job Purpose To manage the statutory EHC assessment process and develop, amend, and review Education, Health and Care Plans for children and young people with SEN, ensuring legal compliance and high-quality, person-centred outcomes. The role includes oversight of vulnerable cohorts, including CYP who are excluded, EHE, or receiving EOTAS/EOTAC. Key Responsibilities Develop, amend, and review EHC Plans in line with statutory requirements and service user aspirations. Apply the legal test under Section 36 of the Children and Families Act 2014 and make Stage 1 and Stage 2 EHC Needs Assessment decisions. Ensure statutory timescales and SEND Code of Practice compliance are met. Coordinate annual and transition reviews. Communicate decisions clearly to families and professionals and facilitate next steps meetings where assessments do not proceed. Work collaboratively with education, health, social care, and legal professionals. Maintain accurate, compliant case records and documentation. Provide advice, guidance, and a key point of contact for families. Support quality assurance, policy development, and peer mentoring within the team.
