IDEXX continues to invest in Veterinary Software and we're growing both our capacity to deliver impactful software and the technical expertise to tackle future challenges relating to scale.

Auckland's home to our global software centre of excellence where we develop a portfolio of cloud platforms and applications. We're seeking a skilled Senior Full Stack Engineer (Front End) to join the Auckland team within a squad of keen software engineers focused on one of our products, SmartFlow.

SmartFlow is a patient workflow software designed to streamline clinical processes and eliminate bottlenecks in veterinary practices.

This role is hands-on technical work where you'll drive and take the lead on the frontend, starting with a conversion from AngularJS to React.

Some key responsibilities of your role:

Lead by example, actively delivering features while showcasing engineering expertise and architectural best practices.
Contribute to the definition and evolution of IDEXX's engineering values, principles, practices, standards and behaviours across all squads.
In collaboration with your team, including Product, and Practice Leads, ensure engineering squads deliver:
Fit-for-purpose solutions.
Prioritise pragmatic technical improvements (such as repair, debt recovery, and refactoring).
What you need to succeed:

Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer
Proven technical people influencer
Experienced in evolving culture and process towards better engagement, agility, automated testing, and DevSecOps.
Experience with principles and practices related to cloud technologies
Practical knowledge of Systems and/or software design.
Familiarity with modern web technologies – C# (.Net) & React

About

A bit more about the role, you will:

You'll be partnering with our implementation teams, driving data conversion tasks required to help customers onboard to our products
You'll directly engage with customers in the onboarding process to gain remote access to systems and grab data
Monitor conversions and self-sufficiently prioritise and organise tickets, complete work, document actions taken, and transition tickets while working closely with our Scrum Master
Ensure that our PM tool and Jira are kept in sync to ensure timely completion of data tasks.

A development background with solid database skills - this isn't off the shelf ETL and data engineering
Interpret data models and comprehend database structures and relationships.
Strong computer skills and a passion for the technical
Driven by initiative - performance orientated, multi-tasker and assertive to the commercial realities of handling large quantities of sensitive customer data.
Great communication skills, engaging with customers and managing internal stakeholders
Bonus if you have some experience in Agile methodologies, scrum/ kandan, AWS, C#, PHP, Python, MySQL, Jira, Grafana, Confluence, Slack
