The Opportunity
As Senior Media and Communications Manager, you will be a vital part of their award-winning team, enhancing their profile through mainstream and specialist media, particularly focusing on their banking and financial services arm, which offers innovative financial products for their charity partners. This year marks a significant change as the charity embarks on a transformation programme to re-platform their banking technology, and your role will lead communications for this project.
Main Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver external communications, media engagement, and reputation management for the charity and its banking and financial services arm.
* Identify media opportunities to boost brand awareness and influence policymakers.
* Plan and execute communication activities for key projects, such as research launches or new product rollouts.
* Manage the press office to ensure credible, professional, and timely media relations, including media monitoring.
* Create engaging content by translating technical issues into newsworthy stories.
* Protect and enhance the organization's reputation by proactively managing issues and risks, minimizing negative attention.
* Advise senior stakeholders, including the CEO, on external communications, issue management, and crisis response.
Key Skills Required
* Proven experience in media relations, PR strategies, issue management, and crisis communications, preferably in financial services or regulated sectors, or agency experience with financial clients.
* Excellent writing skills with attention to detail and the ability to simplify complex concepts into engaging content.
