Deputy Manager – Jollyes Pets – Whitehaven
Salary £28,038 p.a. + bonus potential of £1-5k p.a*.
Supports the Store Manager in daily operations, team management, store standards, stock management and delivering excellent customer service to pet parents.
Following recent growth, we are looking for a talented individual to serve as the Deputy Manager in our Whitehaven store.
Role – Deputy Manager
Support the Store Manager day‑to‑day and take full responsibility for running the store in their absence, managing people, financial performance, store standards and customer service. Lead by example, creating a culture that reflects our values: Genuine, Wise, Eager, Focused, Together. Ensure exceptional customer service and product knowledge (training given). Deliver highest standards of pet care, prioritising pet welfare and responsible ownership.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist the Store Manager with daily store operations.
* Manage staff, scheduling and performance.
* Maintain store standards, health & safety, legal compliance and KPIs.
* Oversee stock management and visual merchandising.
* Provide excellent customer service and product knowledge.
* Promote responsible pet ownership and welfare.
Skills & Experience
* Passion for pets and people; delight customers.
* Previous retail management, deputised for Store Manager.
* Strong team‑building and communication skills.
* Track record of business performance, KPI achievement.
* Commercial awareness, proactive, planning and organisation.
* UK driving licence and own transport for out‑of‑hours or cover.
* Full‑time, permanent (40 hours/week, 5/7).
