Role reports to: Director, PV Alliance Management Location: Reading, UK Travel %: None (office based 3 days per week) What you will do The Research & Development UK Medical Safety Industrial Student Placement is a 12-month placement designed to help university students develop leadership, technical, and communication skills through practical business experience and ongoing training, development, coaching and mentorship. This role will enable the student to have real-life work application of concepts and theories learned in the classroom. This is a full-time assignment. The intern will be assigned to the UK Medical Safety organisation with a range of projects for the duration of the term. Below are examples of the various roles within Medical Safety where the intern will gain experience: Medical Safety Functions : Intern will gain experience across Medical Safety; including Local Safety Organisation activities, Adverse Event Case Management, Signal Detection, Literature Monitoring, Aggregate Reporting and Risk Management, Training and Compliance, and Alliance Management. Key Responsibilities Roles across Medical Safety that collaborate interdisciplinary with project teams to ensure the safety and efficacy of our products Develop learning so that intern can support new and existing projects and strategic initiatives within the Medical Safety teams. Utilize advanced data analytics and AI tools to identify potential safety enhancements. Support in developing interactive safety communication materials that translate complex medical data into engaging insights for diverse stakeholders. Understand how the creation of dynamic safety databases that enhance real-time tracking and reporting of adverse events. Support the exploration of novel methodologies for integrating patient-reported outcomes into safety evaluations. What we are looking for Required Qualifications Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the UK Actively enrolled in an accredited university course that allows a 12 month Industrial Placement Minimum on track for a 2:1 Proficient in Windows software applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) Ability to provide their own transportation between home and work office location Desired Qualifications Degree focused in: Engineering (Chemical, Biomedical, Packaging, Mechanical, Materials, etc.), Science (Biology, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Personal Care, Microbiology, Neuroscience, Consumer & Sensory Science, Food Science, Pharmacy, etc.) Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills Real interest in the consumer industry Displays willingness to learn, strong problem-solving skills and capable of working in a fast-paced environment What’s in it for you Competitive Benefit Package Paid Company Holidays, Paid Vacation, Volunteer Time & More!
