Overview
Lead and manage a production team to deliver high-quality products in line with safety, quality, and operational standards. Drive performance, compliance, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Health & Safety
* Promote a strong safety culture; ensure compliance with H&S and environmental policies
* Minimise environmental impact; ensure safe handling of materials and equipment
* Maintain clean, contamination-free work areas
Production & Operations
* Oversee day-to-day production to meet output and efficiency targets
* Supervise operators to ensure goals and KPIs are achieved
* Identify and implement improvements in workflow and productivity
* Report production performance; elevate issues impacting product availability
* Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Validation teams to ensure GMP compliance
* Manage shift operations (including 3-shift and 4-shift rotations)
Quality & Compliance
* Embed a strong quality culture aligned with GMP principles
* Ensure accurate and timely completion of all production records and documentation
* Investigate quality events and implement effective CAPAs
* Perform internal audits and maintain audit readiness
* Develop, review, and maintain SOPs and production documentation
Team Leadership
* Manage, train, and develop shift personnel
* Build strong cross-functional relationships
* Communicate effectively across all levels and functions
* Support performance reviews, disciplinary processes, and skills development
Continuous Improvement
* Actively engage in CI initiatives (e.g. 6S, visual management)
* Drive cost-effective practices, reduce waste, and maximise yields
* Lead or support root cause investigations and structured problem-solving
Qualifications
Essential
* 3+ years in a manufacturing environment
* 1+ years in a supervisory role
* Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
* Proven ability to meet targets and manage performance
* Skilled in training and developing staff
* Proficient in Microsoft Office
* Flexible to meet business demands
Desirable
* Experience in regulated or pharmaceutical manufacturing
* Familiarity with quality systems and documentation control
* Background in structured problem-solving and root cause analysis
* Experience planning resources to meet production goals
