Senior Architect or Senior Architectural Technologist Job in East Grinstead, West Sussex offering the chance to lead complex cladding remediation and retrofit projects within a technically driven, RIBA Chartered practice. This is a hands-on role for a confident Revit user looking to work at the forefront of Building Safety and regulatory compliance in a collaborative hybrid environment.
This well-established, multi-sector RIBA Chartered architectural practice is recognised for its technical rigour and design quality. The studio has built a strong reputation for delivering complex remediation, retrofit and compliance-led projects, particularly within the residential and mixed-use sectors, working closely with clients, consultants and contractors to navigate evolving Building Safety legislation.
Role & Responsibilities
Lead and deliver technical design packages for cladding remediation and retrofit projects
Produce, manage and coordinate detailed Revit models, drawings and specifications
Ensure full compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022 and associated regulations
Support and undertake Building Regulations Principal Designer duties where required
Prepare and contribute to Gateway 1, 2 and 3 submissions
Coordinate external consultants and specialist subcontractor design information
Review contractor proposals, technical details and material specifications
Identify, manage and mitigate technical and regulatory risks
Support junior team members and contribute to technical reviews
Liaise with clients, contractors and statutory authorities throughout project delivery.
Required Skills & Experience
Qualified Architect or Architectural Technologist
Strong Revit proficiency is essential
3-5 years' experience in cladding remediation, façade replacement or retrofit projects
Excellent technical knowledge and construction detailing capability
Good working knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022
Familiarity with the Gateway process
Understanding of BRPD responsibilities and design risk management
Experience working within multi-disciplinary project teams
Strong communication, coordination and stakeholder management skills.
