Domestic Waste Technician
Peterborough | £27,500 equivalent | 40 hours per week (flexible between 7am–6pm)
12-week temporary contract | Field-based role
Peterborough/Grantham/Spalding, and to visit the following sites - Grimsby, Lincoln, Skegness, Grantham, Spalding, Kings Lynn, Corby/Cambridge occasionally

I’m recruiting for a Domestic Waste Technician to support safe, compliant waste handling across multiple sites in the Peterborough region. This is a mobile, field-based role ideal for someone with operational experience, strong problem-solving skills and a full driving licence.
What you’ll be doing
1. Travelling across local sites to oversee domestic waste operations
2. Completing site checks, basic troubleshooting and ensuring safe working areas
3. Sampling and assessing waste to ensure environmental compliance
4. Maintaining excellent health & safety, environmental and quality standards
5. Providing friendly support and guidance to customers, tanker drivers and site teams
6. Keeping accurate records and reporting any issues promptly
What we’re looking for
7. Full UK driving licence (essential)
8. Based in or around Peterborough
9. Comfortable working outdoors and in operational / industrial environments
10. Strong communicator with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
11. Flexible working approach between 7am–6pm
12. Experience in waste, environmental services, water treatment, utilities or similar (desirable)
13. Knowledge of wastewater, sewage regulations or environmental compliance (bonus)
