Join Our Team as a Support Worker
Location: Drayton, Abingdon, Oxfordshire
Salary: £13.16 per hour (£25,662 per annum) plus benefits
Hours: 7.00 am – 3.00 pm, 2.00 pm – 10.00 pm (Monday to Sunday on a shift rota basis. Shifts may vary due to the needs of the people supported.)
Contract: Full-time (37.5 hours per week), Permanent
Driving Requirement: A valid full UK manual driving license is essential.

Essential Criteria:
To be considered for this role, you need experience in at least two of the following areas:
* Supporting people with learning disabilities, including using communication tools like Makaton or PECs
* Working with individuals with autism and/or visual impairments
* Experience with highly challenged behaviour and applying Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies

We’re looking for someone who:
* Is comfortable supporting someone with complex needs
* Has experience working with individuals who may present challenging behaviours
* Is confident in implementing proactive, person-centred strategies that promote emotional safety, dignity, and engagement
* Holds a full UK manual driving licence and is confident driving different vehicles
Note: From October to the end of the year, you’ll need to travel to Birmingham (B38 area) during John’s transition before he moves to Drayton.

* Respect & Dignity: Always treating John and his family with kindness and respect
Who will you be supporting:
John*: You’ll support John, a vibrant individual with complex needs moving into a specially adapted home. He loves music, Disney films, colouring, outdoor activities like trampolining and swings, story time, trips to cafes, and drives. Family involvement is important, with his dad playing a significant role.
